दक्षिण पश्चिम मॉनसून की शुरूआत हो गई है और महानगर मुंबई में आज भारी वर्षा हुई जिससे उपनगर में रेलगाड़ियों के परिचालन में विलंब हुआ। भारतीय मौसमविज्ञान विभाग (आईएमडी) ने मुंबई, कोंकण-ठाणे के इलाकों, अहमदनगर, परभनी तथा महाराष्ट्र के अन्य भागों में मॉनसून की शुरूआत की आज घोषण की।
भारी बारिश की वजह से चेंबूर में एक बच्चे की नाले में गिरने से मौत हो गयी। चौंकाने वाली बात ये थी कि बीएमसी के लोग, एडमिनिस्ट्रेशन के लोग सड़क पर नहीं उतरे, लोगों की मदद करने नहीं आए और पानी निकालने का कोई इंतजाम नहीं था।
रत्नागिरि, सिंधुदुर्ग, मुंबई, ठाणे, रायगढ और पालघर जिलों में 9 जून को बहुत भारी बारिश की संभावना है जबकि 10 और 11 जून को मुंबई और इसके आसपास के इलाकों सहित कोंकण क्षेत्र के 6 जिलों में इसी तरह के मौसम का पूर्वानुमान लगाया गया है।
